Proposals on UA Strategy 2009
By George Karicha
UA Ambassador, Kenya
March 2009

Here are my ideas and suggestions,but I promise to contribute more later.

IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS ON:

How to build a global network to mobilize a global and concerted action to achieve the Millennium Development Goals MDGs;

•By synthesizing, publishing, and disseminating the most suitable practices for achieving the MDGs
•We should generate a bigger public and political awareness and advocate action for achieving the MDGs.
•By implementing a grassroots, district, national and international approach in order to bridge the gap between global commitments and local action.
•This can also be done by creating social networkings on online applications like the one you created called United Actions Global Network.

How to create positive change and realize the potential of citizens as contributors, change-makers and solutions-makers;

•Partnering with communities, government, NGOs/Civil Society, Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), and Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Donors, Scientific and Academic Institutions and also the United Nations Organizations e.g. UNDP
•Employ an intergraded cross-sectoral approach that will address and exploit interdependencies across different sectors
•Enhance wider dialogue and practical contributions from diverse stakeholders like Civil Society and Private Sector

How to build a global partnership for sustainable development and to address the social and environmental challenges of our time.

•By forging global partnership in order to strengthen and build upon existing global partnership
•Partnering with communities, government, NGOs/Civil Society, Faith Based Organizations (FBOs), and Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Donors, Scientific and Academic Institutions and also the United Nations Organizations to work towards sustainable development and to address the social and environmental challenges of our time.
•Mobilizing the support of private sector
